Day Old Chicks
In 1970, an idea came into fruition to continuously supply the local market with day old broiler chicks or hatching eggs, which were previously imported and hatched in Jordan. Hammoudeh farms depend solely on the hatching eggs produced at its own breeder farms. This allows us to practice precautionary & tough biosecurity measures, while also using the latest technology to help raise healthy broiler chicken breeders. Today, our capacity reaches over 4 million eggs per month. Hammoudeh farms’ policy also requires raising each generation of chicks in a separate location to promote production of the best quality eggs, and to prevent the inter-generational spread of disease.
In 1977, Hammoudeh partnersed up with renowned Lebanese businessman, Mousa Friji, to begin its production of day old layer chicks. He established an operation for the layer sector under the name of Jordan Poultry Breeding Co, which deals with one of the preferred breeding companies in the world, Lohmann Tier Zucht. To ensure special attention to biosecurity and air supply, separate breeder farms and hatcheries were introduced.
